I hadn't been to a dentist for over 30 years and my memories were not pleasant ones. Lincoln Smile Centre was recommended to me as a dental practice that is modern, friendly and having been treated there my admiration for their advancement in dental practice and equipment is enormous.

First impressions are the receptionist who smiles and puts you at ease straight away, followed secondly by the relaxed calming welcome by the dental nurse and the dentist, who are both caring and professional. Thirdly the modern equipment and advancement in anaesthetic is incomparable to my previous experiences, but finally and most importantly the skill of the dentist in his repair of my teeth and the excellent match of my dentures. I would have no hesitation in recommending this practice to anyone needing dental and hygiene work.

I have been delighted with the result of my implants as they feel no different from my own teeth and I can enjoy laughing and eating again.

The treatment was long but was exactly as set out in the treatment plan and I felt very looked after by Tom and his Team, who were caring and professional during the different procedures, especially during the actual surgery when I felt no pain.

I would recommend implants to anyone. For me they were worth the expense.

I have been most impressed by Tom and his caring dental team, top marks!!.

Due to a denture intolerance and complex bite I decided to have a permanent porcelain bridge supported by 3 implants. Every possibility was explored by Tom to achieve the best outcome to suit my individual needs.

A care plan was made and everything discussed fully with me.

The procedure, although intense, was relatively pain free. Tom being a perfectionist, has done a wonderful job along with his team.

Mr Tom Smithard carried out restorative treatment for me on three teeth, including a dental implant in 2011. Mr Smithard and his team started with a thorough oral check-up and, after discussion with me, proposed a treatment plan. I was very happy with this plan, which was carried out in a caring and friendly manner with no or minimal pain during and after the appointments.

I was kept informed of the progress of the treatment at all times. I am delighted with the outcome, especially the implant: I was quite self-conscious about the gap which showed when smiling, and have had a marked confidence boost since the procedure. Having just had two implants, I would like to say how pleased I am with the finished result. Background For many years I have had a dentist phobia, and in the past used to put up with toothache until the discomfort and pain exceeded my fear of seeing a dentist. I am very please to say that since moving to Lincolnshire in 2005 I have frequently consulted Niel Bosman as my dental practitioner including attending for check-ups and hygienist visits while free of any pain or discomfort, Niel has achieved this remarkable turn-around in by having patience with me and allowing me to build trust and confidence in him as a dentist and become comfortable that he puts my comfort and wellbeing ahead of getting the job done.

Customer Service

Lincoln Smile Centre provide excellent service, and have been very accommodating with regard to fitting appointments around my busy working life, this has frequently meant appointments at 8.00am allowing me the rest of the day to get on with my work,

I have been very impressed by their polite and considerate telephone calls on the day following treatment enquiring about my well being and making sure I am happy with the results of any work done. And a very helpful telephone call to remind me of appointments a few days before.

One of the most important aspects of dental care provided by Niel Bosman has been the time he takes in each consultation, no rush to get on with the next patient and at all times a feeling of calm concern for my well being while he works. At no time has there been any pain caused by Niel during any procedure, including the injection of local anaesthetic, during drilling for fillings or during tooth extraction, this is a fantastic improvement on my experience of NHS dentists. He always checks that I am comfortable during and after each procedure.

My Dental Implant

When one of my teeth, that had previously been held together with fillings, shattered, I had to make a decision about having it replaced. Niel Bosman made sure that I understood the range of options available to me. before choosing to have an implant he made sure I understood what I would be committing myself to, he was very specific, made sure that I understood and how long it would take from start to completion of the implant and the time required in the dental chair (for a person with a previous history of dentist phobia, this is essential). I am delighted that he took the time and effort to help me decide to have an implant, it has been in for about two years now, it is and always has been very comfortable, it looks just like my own teeth, and feels as normal as any other tooth in my mouth, in other words I forget it’s there.

I joined the Cosmetic Dental Studio (now Lincoln Smile Centre) about 4 years ago and could not wish for better. Everyone at the practice is very friendly, treats me as an individual and gives me personal attention which is very rare in today’s busy world.

Niel talked me through how I could enhance my smile and I decided to have all my old amalgam fillings replaced with white fillings. Neil is an extremely skilled professional and made sure that every care was taken to make this a pain free procedure which was done in two sessions.

I am very happy to make recommendations for dental work carried out by Niel Bosman of The Lincoln Smile Centre. Having had some quite extensive dental work done there which included bridge work, crowns and an implant, I was more than impressed. The service and welcome of the staff are exemplary and I was made to feel at ease immediately. They were all very reassuring and informative about what was going to be done.

The treatment itself was carried out with the utmost care and each step explained to me by Niel along the way. Sometimes I had to be in the dentist chair for up to 2hrs, but at no time did I experience any pain. I was always told what was about to happen, and kept informed of the progress of the operation as it was being done, which was so helpful and calming.

I felt very well cared for at all times during each of my visits as the progress was made through my treatment. I was seen quickly and promptly on each occasion and felt that a very good watch was kept on the outcome of all the procedures that were done. It is 2 years since my work was done and the after care has also been excellent.

I can only say now that I’m absolutely delighted with the dental work that was done and I am no longer afraid to smile with confidence. With my previous loose crown and fillings at the front of my mouth, I did have problems, but now I cannot believe the difference Niel has made and how much better I feel.

The implant treatment was the most extensive part of my dental work and took the longest time, but again was pain free and was worth going through. The new tooth is wonderful and no one would know it wasn’t my tooth, even to me it just feels like any other tooth in my mouth. I’m very impressed.

Back in 2005 I was petrified of the Dentists but I was in terrible pain and had a few bad experiences and consequently did not go for at least 10 years.

I looked through the yellow pages and found the ‘Cosmetic Dental Studio’ as it was known then, and they had an email address so I braved it and emailed them.

I was too terrified to call. I received a lovely reassuring email back and plucked up courage to call and the receptionist put me at ease so I booked an appointment with Niel.

Having lost the post on my upper front crown and having it replaced with a very uncomfortable denture, I decided in a consultation with Niel Bosman to embark into, for me unknown territory, the fitting of a dental implant.

The procedure was carefully explained and I went ahead. The result after nearly 2 years has been excellent, a good match, no pain and was encouraged to stop smoking after nearly 60 years!

Flushed with this success I then went ahead with two more implants filling a long standing gap in my upper jaw, although this process is quite expensive, if successful appears to have a long life.

I would therefore recommend anyone who maybe thinking about implants to talk it over with Niel Bosman as the treatment and hygiene were first class

In October 2007 I sought Niel’s professional advice regarding the appearance of two upper crowns, which were larger than my original teeth.

Niel made a thorough inspection, including x-rays and gave me two options of treatment. One to replace the crowns with crowns, the other to insert implants. I chose the implants, being a more long term solution. The treatment was carried out over a series of appointments, some two hours long. It was not painful.

Throughout Niel and his assistants were mindful of my comfort and wellbeing and I was given an out of hours number in case I needed it.

I live 25 miles out of Lincoln and was able to drive to and from each appointment. The implants are wonderful and they are trouble free, not only do they look better, they are more reliable than the crowns or my natural teeth.

I have no hesitation in recommending the practice or implants to anyone
